The law office of Hoon Law, LLC supports access to justice and has experience in a variety of legal matters, including Criminal Defense, Child Welfare, Guardianships, and Adoptions.

Twila graduated from UNM Law in 2001 and has been practicing law in New Mexico ever since. Twila's focus has been on child welfare and adoptions, criminal defense (felony, misdemeanor, and DWI), appeals, mediation, family law, adoption, guardianship proceedings, and representing children in a number of proceedings as a Guardian ad Litem. Hoon Law, LLC was created by Twila A. Hoon in 2024 following her employment, with the judiciary as the Director of the Court Appointed Attorney Program and Director of the Access to Justice Program.

Harlena Reed, JD, LCSW, LMSW, joined Hoon Law in January 2026. Ms. Reed obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law. She earned her Master of Social Work and Bachelor of Sociology Degrees from the University of Michigan. Prior to joining Hoon Law Ms. Reed has worked in a variety of capacities within the mental health and legal fields. Ms. Reed has served as the Clinical and Legal Director for a non-profit in New Mexico and Deputy Director for a licensing division within the State of New Mexico. Prior legal practice includes criminal defense, family law, mental health law, and child welfare law. In addition to her law license, Ms. Reed maintains clinical social work licenses in New Mexico and Michigan. A Detroit native, Ms. Reed is passionate about advocating for the rights of the marginalized, including those suffering from mental illness.

Hoon Law, LLC provides a wide range of legal services across New Mexico, including representation in criminal law matters, child welfare, adoptions, kinship guardianships, adult guardianships, mediation, and appeals. The team at Hoon Law, LLC is comprised of attorney Twila Hoon and attorney Harlena Reed with support from our administrative assistants. Our legal team serves as guardian ad litem (GAL) in a number of legal matters and also provides direct representation in children's law and criminal law proceedings.
